Any item more than 40 years old will need to have a "red seal" before it can be exported. The red seal is your guarantee that you can take your purchase out of China. Keep all purchase receipts. Red seals can be affixed and appraisals carried out (for a fee) at the Culture Relics Bureau, prior to leaving China.
